In the U.S., there are quite a few large debt consolidations companies in business today. Some of these companies service consumers nationwide (and can even do business overseas through subsidiaries), some companies have a more narrower focus and solely work within their own local communities.
One of the larger companies out there is AmeriDebt. AmeriDebt is located in Maryland, New York, and Alabama. According to the BBB, only one person has reported negatively out of all 3 companies. Few people claim that AmeriDebt isn’t an honorable debt-counseling corporation. There have never been any judgements placed against them and they have never been in court.
Federal Credit Unions are another leading debt management resource for consumers. They can be located in a number of different states. Credit Unions are a “Non-Profit United Way” credit agency designed to help both families and individuals decide what their specific debt reduction needs are. Research shows, the United Way is one of the most qualified and quantified organizations available that can help consumers avoid court summons, bankruptcies, judgements, and so on. The company will help the families avoid foreclosures and repossessions by working closely with the creditors to combine all accumulated debts into one monthly installment.
Another group out there to help families learn how to manage their debt is the CCCS. “Financial Counseling Certified” counselors (housed within the CCCS offices), work closely with consumers to help them create a plan that not only lowers their debts but also increasing their cash flow. CCCS counsels families on how to manage their own debt whereas some debt consolidation companies can take people through many changes before accomplishing this. The Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is a credit company that works to get families into homes with credit support.
There are also debt-consolidation types of organizations out there that are affiliated with religious groups. Often times, these companies have ties to qualified companies and they work together to help people relieve their debt.
There are quite a few options out there if you’re searching to consolidate your debts. Just make sure you find one that best suits your needs.
