Packing Mirror Tips

You dont ever want to unpack your mirrors or framed art to find out that the frame glass is broken or your really expensive mirror is cracked. Moving can be a fun but stressful time and you dont want to always be worrying about your stuff making sure its all right.

If you pack up your mirrors and frames up in the appropriate way, you wont be worrying the whole time. This will make moving more of an enjoyable experience. Here are a few things that Ive learned are important when you are moving mirrors or framed art.

The first thing that you want to do is to take some masking tape and tape an X across the frame of the glass or the large mirror itself. This is for safety purposes just in case you drop it or if a box hits it, or any other items you are moving it with.

You must really wrap up your mirror or frame up well in newspaper or clean paper. You need all the added cushion you can get. With artwork you want to make sure you are using clean paper to wrap it up in.

If you want added protection, use bubble wrap to make sure that everything stays in place.

Next, make sure that when you buy your boxes that you dont buy anything too big. You dont want to give your mirrors or frames too much room to slide or move around in. Measure your mirrors or frames before you go to the store so you know the exact size that you are going to need.

One of the worst things anyone can do at this point is lay the mirror or frames down flat. When you do this people are tempted to place other boxes over them, or even step on them. Always lay the box down on the edge.

Lastly, it is always smart to label your mirrors fragile so that everyone knows to be especially careful with that item.
