In efforts to help our environment by going “green”, today everyone, including the home heating oil industry, is looking to contribute in all they can towards these efforts. Energy companies are looking to provide their customers with Bioheat options much needed for their homes and their businesses.
Biodiesel is a renewable resource, and is a new form of fuel derived from animal fats or vegetable oils. Pullum/Sibling Energy converted their offices to this new form and is offering the option to their customers, in helping the environment.
Numerous are the advantages of utilizing Bioheat. When it makes up only 20% of the fuel mixture (referred to as B20), it emits 83% less sulfur emissions. This B20 mixture reduces nitrogen oxide as well as carbon dioxide by 20% and 16% respectively. We are aware that carbon dioxide is a contributing demon towards global warming. Plants used to derive the fuel remove a greater amount of carbon dioxide which is produced by Biofuels used for Bioheat, but remove a greater amount during the course of their life, therefore making Biofuel removes carbon dioxide and helps our environment by actually reversing C02′s atmospheric levels!
B20 fuel is readily available, and can work with existing fuel oil burners, though a heating system that runs on 100% Biofuel often requires modifications. A minimal price for this (between 2-5% increase in a year’s course), with a positive effect it has on the environment, and the environmentally-conscious consumer finds this a great choice.
In the practice of heading towards “green”, energy companies like Pullum/Sibling Energy, for example, letting responsibility ride on them as they are looking to incorporate the use of Biofuel in as many of their applications as possible.
