Citizens of the United States of America can apply for a government grant. These government grants are legitimate money that are granted to those who require them and are basically funds given away by various government bureaus, corporations, departments, foundations, etc. These grants are financial advantages that are made available by the administration to those people or groups who meet the criteria set up for these grants. Many free government grants go unclaimed every year for various reasons as people are not aware that these grants are easily available to them.
Different groups and establishments are eligible for these government grants. These grants are divided into four main types. Project grants are those that are awarded to people on a competitive basis. These grants are employed mainly for conducting scientific research, utilised to help educational goals, welfare works, various technological developments, healthcare, etc. The second type of government grant is those that are given to individuals who need vocational training. The categorical grants, which fall into the third type, are those grants, which are used for different intentions like urban forestry assistance, hazard abatement project and other particularized projects. The block grants are the last type of grants, in which a large sum of money is given to state or lower government bodies with particularized provisions on how they must be employed.
In order to apply for and claim government grants, you should be above 18 years of age and have to either be a citizen of the U.S. or you should be a resident alien. If you satisfy these criteria, then download a grant application package, fill in the application and submit the same.
